I am a group leader at DTU Health Technology.

My focus is the development and applications of polymeric materials. Building on the advances in polymer science, we create next-generation functional soft materials and tools for (bio)pharmaceuticals.

I am also active in the public science debate in Denmark, and engage in the public communication of science related topics. Views are my own, and I do not represent any organization.

My background is in medicinal chemistry, with a focus on organic chemistry. I did my Ph.D. in the Zelikin Lab at Aarhus University, which was my initial foray into polymer science, as we worked on polymer prodrugs.

In 2016, I moved on to UC Berkeley, where I did a postdoc in the Ting Xu Lab, developing tools for polymer design in context of polymer-protein complexes. After this, I was a visiting scholar in the Appel Lab at Stanford University, where I worked on a diverse selection of projects, including polymers as excipients for biologics, vaccine adjuvant design, and cancer immunotherapy.

I’ve returned to Denmark in 2020, where I aim to create an integrated interdisciplinary research environment, with application-focused research.
